Impressum and disclosure

Disclosure pursuant to § 25 of the Austrian Media Act (Mediengesetz) and information pursuant to § 5 of the Austrian E-Commerce Act (ECG).

Privacy notice

Information pursuant to Article 13 of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). The short version: no accounts, no contact form, no advertising, no cookies, and no cross-site tracking. What remains is the unavoidable minimum that any website produces.

Hosting and server logs

The site is hosted by Vercel Inc., 340 S Lemon Ave #4133, Walnut, CA 91789, USA. Delivering a page necessarily transmits your IP address, the requested URL, the time of the request, the referring page, and your browser's user-agent string to the hosting infrastructure, where it is processed in short-lived operational logs for delivery, security, and abuse prevention.

Legal basis: Article 6(1)(f) GDPR — the legitimate interest in operating a working and reasonably secure website. Transfers to the United States are covered by Vercel's data processing agreement and the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.

Traffic measurement

This site uses Vercel Web Analytics to count page views. It is a cookieless measurement: it stores nothing on your device, sets no identifier that persists across days, and does not follow you to other websites. Vercel derives a short-lived, hashed visitor value from request data in order to distinguish one visit from another, and reports only aggregate counts to the site operator. No profile is built, and no data is sold or shared for advertising.

Legal basis: Article 6(1)(f) GDPR — the legitimate interest in knowing roughly how many people read these pages. Because nothing is stored on or read from your device, no consent banner is required under § 165 of the Austrian Telecommunications Act.

What is not done here

• No cookies are set by this site.
• No user accounts, logins, newsletters, or contact forms exist.
• No advertising networks, remarketing pixels, or social plugins are embedded.
• No personal data is sold, rented, or passed on for marketing purposes.

One third-party request

The home page fetches the public star count of the project's GitHub repository directly from api.github.com. That request transmits your IP address to GitHub, Inc., which is unavoidable when a browser fetches a file from another host. Fonts and images are served from this site's own domain, so no font or CDN provider learns about your visit. Links to GitHub, PyPI, ClawHub, and the individual search providers are ordinary hyperlinks: nothing is transmitted until you follow them, and from that point the target site's own privacy policy applies.

Retention

The operator keeps no personal data. Operational logs are retained by the hosting provider for the limited periods described in Vercel's own privacy documentation, and are then deleted or aggregated beyond recovery.

Your rights

You have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability, and objection to processing based on legitimate interests (Articles 15 to 21 GDPR). Write to the address above to exercise them. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Austrian Data Protection Authority (Österreichische Datenschutzbehörde, Barichgasse 40–42, 1030 Vienna, dsb@dsb.gv.at).

What Web Search Plus itself does with data

This notice covers the website only. The Web Search Plus software runs on your own machine or your own server. When you use it, your queries go directly from your infrastructure to whichever search providers you configured, under your own API keys and their privacy policies. Nothing is routed through this site, and the operator of this site never sees your queries, keys, or results.

Web Search Plus is open-source software provided free of charge and licensed under the terms stated in each repository. It is provided as-is, without warranty of any kind, express or implied. No liability is accepted for any damage arising from its use, to the extent permitted by law. You are responsible for your own API keys, your own spending with the providers you configure, and for complying with each provider's terms of service.

Provider information goes stale

The provider guide records free tiers, pricing, and capabilities as verified on the date shown on that page. Providers change all three without notice, and some change them often. Re-confirm at signup before using any figure here as a budget. The information is collected in good faith from each provider's own public documentation and is not endorsed by them.

Independence and trademarks

All provider names, logos, and trademarks are the property of their respective owners. This project is independent: it is not affiliated with, sponsored by, endorsed by, or funded by any of the search providers it supports or describes, and receives no commission from signups. There are no affiliate links on this site.

Corrections

If you operate one of the listed services and something here is wrong or out of date, write to the address above. Verified errors are corrected, and the correction is noted rather than quietly applied.
